2. Services Provided
The Centre undertakes:
IDEST cylinder visual and hydrostatic testing.
Servicing of regulators, BCDs, and related diving equipment.
Functional checks and battery replacement for dive computers.
All work is carried out in accordance with IDEST standards, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable UK regulations.
Certificates of test or service reports will be issued where appropriate.
All work is subject to an internal quality assurance check prior to release.
Once a technician’s report has been verified, it is final and cannot be altered.
3. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must declare known faults, previous damage, or modifications.
Proof of ownership may be requested. The Centre reserves the right to refuse service where ownership cannot be verified.
Accessories and personal attachments should be removed unless agreed otherwise.
Once a cylinder service is booked, it cannot be withdrawn or cancelled.
4. Cylinder Rejection & Non-Return Policy
Cylinders that fail inspection or testing will be permanently condemned in accordance with IDEST and HSE requirements.
Condemned cylinders and their valves will be permanently marked (where applicable) and will not be returned to the Customer. They will be retained for safe disposal by the Centre.
Our team will always make reasonable efforts to return a cylinder to serviceable condition. Any remedial work will be carried out at the Customer’s cost, with prior approval required. Work will only proceed once invoiced and paid.
Even after remedial work has been completed, there is no guarantee that the cylinder will achieve a test pass.
No liability is accepted for the loss of use of a condemned cylinder.
5. Other Equipment – Rejection or Unsafe Condition
Regulators, BCDs, and dive computers found to be unsafe or beyond economical repair may be refused service or returned unserviced.
Customers will be informed before further action is taken.
Dive Computers:
Battery replacements will be carried out with appropriate seals and manufacturer-approved or equivalent batteries.
Where possible, a pressure test will be conducted after resealing to verify watertight integrity.
The Centre does not guarantee retention of logged dive data. Customers should back up any data prior to submitting equipment.
6. Liability
The Centre’s liability for any claim shall not exceed the cost of the service provided.
Diving Academy Services accepts no responsibility for indirect or consequential loss, including missed dives, travel costs, or loss of enjoyment.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by the Centre’s negligence.
7. Pricing & Payment
Prices for testing and servicing are displayed at the Centre or provided on request.
Payment is due upon collection unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Equipment not collected within 3 months may be disposed of. Storage fees may apply after 30 days.
8. Quality Assurance
All equipment is subject to final quality checks by authorised staff before release.
Where manufacturer test protocols apply (e.g., regulator intermediate pressure, BCD inflation hold, computer reseal and pressure test), these will be recorded and verified.
9. Complaints
Customers should raise complaints with the Centre Manager in the first instance.
If unresolved, formal complaints may be escalated to IDEST.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
